Most automatic doors do not have a key lock. Instead they feature auto-locks that actively engage when closed to prevent the curtain being forced from the bottom. In addition to this our wired Somfy control panel is fitted with a 94db ear piercing alarm that will sound should someone try to force entry.
Electric insulated garage doors work by sending an encoded radio signal from the remote control to the control box to tell it to open and close at the required time. The distance from which this can be done will vary depending upon if any objects are in the way or you are inside a building. We recommend that the safest way to operate the door is to do so by line of sight. By this, we mean that it should only ever be operated when you have a clear view. This way, you can be certain that no objects or more importantly, children are near to it when it closes. As a large heavy moving object, a garage door has the potential to cause injury. It is therefore essential that children are not allowed to play with the remote.
